Skipper Rohit Paudel from Nepal smashed a Century against the mighty West Indies A side at TU International ground Kirtipur in the first match of the ongoing 5-match T20 series between Nepal and West Indies A.
West Indies A side came to Nepal for the historic 5-match T20 series from April 27 to May 5.
In the first match against West Indies A, Nepal won the toss and elected to bowl first inviting the visitors to bat first at TU ground.
Johnson Charles and Alick Athanaze came out to open for West Indies while Kamal Singh Airee started with the ball for Nepal.
West Indies side played well in a power play over despite losing a couple of wickets. Roston Chase’s 74 runs in 46 deliveries, Alick Athanaze’s 47 runs in 25 deliveries, and Keacy Carty’s 38 runs in 26 deliveries boosted West Indies A to 205 runs in 20 overs losing 5 wickets.
Nepal got a disappointing start losing both their Opener early in power playovers. Skipper Rohit Paudel came out to bat at No 3 for Nepal after Anil Sah departed early.
Rohit started with a boundary for Nepal and started making partnerships with Kushal Malla and Dipendra Singh Airee.
Rohit smashed 112 runs in 54 deliveries that Played a role from constructive to almost finishing role but the skipper got out early and Gulshan Jha finished the game for Nepal with 2 back-to-back boundaries in the last over thriller.
The victory over Mighty West Indies A side will surely boost the confidence and Morale of the Nepali Cricket Side. The century knock from Skipper Paudel backed by Dipendra Singh Airee in the middle over and at the end and a finishing knock by Gulshan Jha with 2 fours.

Nepal Chased down the target of 205 runs in 19.4 over with 2 balls remaining. Skipper Rohit Paudel didn’t finish the game by himself but had rescued his team after 2 early wicket to a comfortable position where the Match could be won easily.
Rohit Paudel became Player of the Match for his century knock that gave Nepal a 1–0 lead against West Indies A in the series. He is also the first Nepali Player to hit Century against West indies.
The Century not only made Nepal win the match but also showcased Nepali Squad’s strong and aggressive preparation for the ICC T20 World Cup to be held in June in the USA and West Indies.
Nepali Fans are excited about the win after Nepal had a disappointing performance in the ACC Premier Cup losing the Semi-Final to UAE and third position with Hong Kong.
Nepal will again take on West Indies A on April 28, Sunday in the second T20 match at TU international ground in Kirtipur.
