Nepal won the match by 4 wickets against West Indies A by chasing 205 runs in their home ground at TU International ground in Kirtipur in the first match of the 5-matches Nepal vs West Indies A series.

Rohit Paudel Smashed a Century against the West Indies to lead his team and lead BY 1-0 in Nepal vs West Indies A series.

1st Inning in Nepal vs West Indies A

Nepal won the coin flip and elected to field first inviting mighty West Indies A to bat. Kamal Singh Airee started with the new ball while Johnson Charles and Alick Athanaze opened the inning for the West Indies A side.

Kamal Singh Airee strikes in his first over dismissing Johnson Charles in the very first over. Johnson Charles departed for a duck and New Batter Andre Fletcher came out at No 3 for West Indies.

Andre Fletcher also gets back to the pavilion with a brilliant run-out combination by Skipper Rohit Paudel and Anil Sah. Fletcher scored 13 runs in 5 deliveries with 2 sixes.

Opener Batter Alick Athanaze also got back to the hut after Rohit Paudel took a brilliant catch in Lalit’s over. Alick Athanaze scored 47 runs with 3 sixes and 5 fours missing his half-century by just 3 runs.

Abinash Bohora dismissed dangerous-looking Keacy Carty with a simple catch from Dipendra Singh Airee. Keacy Carty added 38 runs in 26 deliveries with 3 sixes and 2 fours. 

Skipper Roston Chase became the highest scorer for the West Indies A side scoring 74 runs in just 46 deliveries.

Kamal Singh Airee picked up 1 wicket giving away 53 runs, Dipendra Singh Airee picked up 1 giving away just 30 runs and Abinash Bohora picked up 1 wicket for Nepal with economical bowling giving only 27 runs in 4 overs. Skipper Paudel also bagged 1 wicket in his name.

The 3 key players of Nepal Aasif Sheikh, Karan KC, and Sompal Kami were rested in the first match and were replaced with Anil Sah, Pratish GC, and Kamal Singh Airee.

2nd Inning Nepal vs West Indies  A

Nepal came out to bat with a change in their regular opening batter as Aasif Sheikh was replaced by Anil Sah. Anil Sah got a chance to play after not getting a chance in the ACC Premier Cup But Sah couldn’t utilize the opportunity and got out early for just 5 runs in 9 balls. 

The Skipper Rohit Paudel walked in at No. 3 for Nepal and started with a bang for Nepal with 2 fours in the first 2 deliveries he played. Rohit was getting back in form ball by ball after struggling a bit in the ACC Premier Cup.

Kushal Bhurtel who had 3 back-to-back ducks in his last 3 games in the ACC Premier Cup struggled against West Indies too as he got behind for just cheap 16 runs in 12 deliveries and Obed McCoy got his first wicket.

Kushal Malla came to the crease at No. 4 for Nepal but departed after a small slow inning of 16 runs in 15 balls with a run-out at the last ball of the 10th over. Nepal was 82/3 after the halfway stage of the second inning.

Dipendra Singh Airee came out at No. 5 for Nepal and assisted Rohit Paudel who was the lone warrior for Nepal in the crease.

Dipendra Singh Airee added 24 runs in 18 deliveries before his departure which helped Nepal to get stable in the middle overs.

Skipper Paudel also completed his fifty in the meantime in just 27 deliveries and was leading his team from the front. Nepal was 136/3 after 15 overs and needed 69 runs in the last 30 balls.

Bibek Kumar Yadav came out at the crucial phase but struggled and got out early for just 7 runs in 8 deliveries. In the meantime, Skipper Rohit Paudel smashed his first century against West Indies in just 47 deliveries leading his team from the front.

Gulshan Jha entered the crease when 24 runs were needed out of 13 balls and the game was in control of Nepali Batters but tension peaked in Nepal’s dugout when Skipper Paudel got caught behind after hitting 112 runs in 54 deliveries.

In the final over, Gulshan Jha was in the crease when Nepal needed 9 runs off the last over and Jha finished the game, Nepal got off the mark with 2 back-to-back boundaries by Gulshan Jha.

Nepal won by 4 wickets against the mighty West Indies A side with 2 balls remaining in the inning.

On the bowling side, Matthew Forde picked up 2 wickets becoming expensive after conceding 49 runs in his spell. Obed McCoy conceded 34 runs bagging 2 wickets and Keemo Paul picked up 1 wicket giving away just 27 runs.

Rohit Paudel became Player of the Match for his elegant Century that led Nepal 1–0 lead in the Nepal vs West Indies A series.
