Sagar Dhakal Becomes Player of the Match: Nepal vs West Indies A

Sagar Dhakal bagged 3 crucial wickets for Nepaland becomes Player of the match while bowling in the powerplay overs, which restricted West Indies to just 172 runs.

He recently returned to Nepal’s squad in the West Indies series. He also got picked up for Nepal’s 15-member Squad for the T20 World Cup.

Sagar Dhakal silenced the critics about why the management had shown faith in him and picked him up for the T20 World Cup ahead with his brilliant performanc with the ball.

Nepal was playing the final match of the Kibu Nepal vs West Indies Series which the West Indies already sealed by 3–1.

Sagar was introduced into the attack in the powerplay by Skipper Rohit Paudel in just the second over from the pavilion end. Sagar got smashed by Kadeem Alleyne for 10 runs in the first 3 balls but Kadeem made a long walk back to the pavilion after Rohit Paudel took a single-handed magical catch of Kadeem.

Dhakal strikes early for Nepal and gets his first wicket. Kadeem Alleyne departed for just 11 runs in 6 balls. Sagar Dhakal conceded 11 runs off his first over giving Nepal a much-needed early break-through.

Sagar Dhakal was brought back into the attack by Poudel as a Partnership was building between Johnson Charles and Mark Deyal.

Dhakal dismissed Set man Johnson Charles in the very first delivery of his second over taking catch of his bowling while Johnson Charle tried to play with the soft hand. Johnson Charles departed for 24 runs in 20 deliveries with 2 sixes and 2 fours.

Sagar Dhakal strikes yet again with the ball in the 3rd ball of the over dismissing another set man Mark Deyal. Rohit Paudel took another catch off Sagar’s bowling and Sagar Dhakal got his 3rd wicket.

Sagar Dhakal ended his second over by conceding just 6 runs in the over with 2 important wickets for Nepal

Kushal Bhurtel bowled economically however remained wicketless and conceded just 24 runs in his 4-over spell.

However, Sagar didn’t bowl after his second over. He conceded 17 runs bagging 3 wickets in his name with an economy of 8.50.

Sompal Kami showcased his brilliance with the ball in the death over picking 3 wickets for Nepal and restricting West Indies to just 172 runs after 20 overs.

Nepal won the fifth match of the Nepal vs West Indies Series however lost the series by 3–2. 

Kushal Bhurtel continued his struggling form in the last game too while Anil Sah and Aasif Sheikh both scored half-centuries for Nepal. Kushal Malla scored 22 runs in the penultimate over of the inning against Obed McCoy when 22 runs were needed off the last 12 balls.

Nepal won the match by 6 wickets by chasing the target in 18. 5 over with 7 balls remaining. Sagar Dhakal wins the player of the match for his 3 wickets in 2 overs with an economy of 8.50.
