Malaysia vs Nepal : Nepal won the match by 5 wickets

Nepal won the first match against Malaysia by 5 wickets in the ongoing ACC premier Cup 2024 Malaysia vs Nepal.

Malaysia won the toss and elected to bowl first in the 3rd match against Nepal in the ongoing ACC Premier T20 Cup. Muhammad Amir Azim and Virandeep Singh came out to bat for Malaysia while Karan Kc started with the ball for Nepal on Batting friendly pitch.

Skipper Virandeep Singh and Muhammad Shukor gave an early boost to Malaysia’s Batting but Allrounder Dipendra Singh Airee took a catch of his bowling to send Muhammad Amir Azim back to the pavilion.

 Muhammad Amir scored 16 runs in 18 balls with 3 fours at a strike rate of 88.89 and Malaysia was 35/1 after 5.1 overs.

Sharvin Muniyandy was the new man at No. 3 for Malaysia. Skipper and Sharvin took the inning of Malaysia with a brilliant partnership. Skipper Virandeep Singh completed his 50 runs in just 41 deliveries with 3 fours and 3 sixes. 

Virandeep Singh completed his 16th T20I fifty in his name. Both Batters stabilize the inning well for Malaysia without losing wickets early. At the end of 16 Malaysia was 117/1.

Abhinash Bohora in the 17th over finally broke the partnership dismissing Sharvin Muniyandy for 41 runs in 33 deliveries with 3 fours and 2 sixes with a clean bowled to get his first wicket.

Syed Aziz was the new man at No. 4 but couldn’t maximize the death over and got caught by Kushal Malla, Dipendra Singh Airee got his second wicket and Malaysia was reduced to 126/3.

Nazmus Sakib was the new man in at No. 4 and batted till the end for the Malaysian side. Malaysia scored only 143 runs despite getting a boosted power play and lots of wickets in hand. 

Syed Aziz remains unbeaten at 3 runs for 5 balls while skipper Virandeep Singh scored 72 runs in 57 deliveries and gave a target of 144 runs for the strong Nepal A side.

In Bowling Department Lalit Rajbanshi completed his spell giving away 28 runs remaining wicketless. Karan Kc giveaway 21 runs in 2 overs at an economy of 10.50 yet remained wicketless.

 Dipendra Singh Airee bowled the most economical spell for Nepal giving away just 14 runs with an economy rate of 3.50 with 2 wickets in his name. Sompal Kami and Kushal Bhurtel bowled 2 overs each giving away 11 runs and 17 runs respectively.

Gulshan Jha and Kushal Malla also bowled 1 over each for the side giving away just 12 runs and 10 runs respectively. Abinash Bohora completed his spell giving 28 runs with 1 wickets in his name.

2nd Inning

Regular Batting Openers Kushal Bhurtel and Aasif Sheikh came out for the run chase for Nepal while Rizwan Haider started with the ball for Malaysia.

Bhurtel and Sheikh started well for Nepal, Opening Batters set the 48-run partnership for Nepal before the dismissal of Kushal Bhurtel. Bhurtel departed scoring 24 runs in 24 deliveries with 3 fours in his name and Pvandeep got his first wicket with an LBW.

Skipper Rohit Kumar Paudel was the new man at No. 3 for Nepal. Opener Aasif Sheikh also departed scoring 32 runs in 35 balls after setting platform for the middle-order batters. Nepal was 64/2 after Sheikh’s dismissal.

Kushal Malla at No 4 for Nepal to add runs in an easy-looking runchase for Nepal with lots of wickets in hand, But Kushal Malla departed early adding just 7 runs in 6 balls to the scorecard.

All-rounder Dipendra Singh Airee entered at No. 5 for Nepal with the intent to finish the match for Nepal but Skipper Paudel left the crease after adding 27 runs in 24 balls. Nepal 108/4 after the departure of Skipper.

Tension peaked for Nepal when Man-in-form Dipendra Singh Airee also got back to the pavilion after playing a small knock of 20 runs in 11 deliveries.

Gulshan Jha entered the crease and started with the six for Nepal and Nepal needed 18 runs in the last 2 overs with Jha and Jora in the crease.

Sundeep Jora and Gulshan Jha remain unbeaten on 12(9) and 19(7) to get Nepal off the mark with the victory. Nepal won the match by 5 wickets.

In the bowling department, Skipper Virandeep Singh picked 3 wickets for the Malaysian Side giving away just 35 runs with an economy rate of 8.75. Pavandeep Singh and Muhammad Wafiq picked 1 wicket each for the side.

Rizwan Haider, Vijay Unni, and Muhammad Wafiq remain wicketless for Malaysia while bowling 3 overs, 3.2 overs, and 3 over respectively for the side. Malaysia will play aainst Saudi Arabia in next match on 13 April in ACC Premier Cup after losing first game against Nepal.
