Lanka Premier League’s first edition will be held from July 1 to July 21 which has attracted the cricketers’ attention as more than 500 foreign players have registered for Lanka Premier League 2024.
Lanka Premier League is Sri Lanka’s top domestic T20 tournament with a mix of International cricketers that features teams where together 24 matches will be played with 20 group stage matches 2 playoff, eliminator, and Finals.
Each team will get to play eight matches in the group stages where the top 4 will qualify for the playoffs of the Lanka Premier League.
The players from a total of 24 different countries from test playing to associate nations had registered for the Mini-auction of the Lanka Premier League to be featured in the five teams that will play Lanka Premier League 2024.
The tournament will be played in the double Round robin formats. The first edition of the league was played in 2020. Wanindu Hasaranga iis the highets wicket-taker with 57 wickets in LPL and Avishka Fernando has most runs i.e. 1170 runs
