Hasan Ali marked the comeback in the Pakistan Men’s T20I Squad as he is includedin the Pakistan squad for Ireland and England T20Is after 2 long years.
Pakistan is set to play 3 T20I matches against Ireland and 4 T20I matches against England before they fly for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 under the captaincy of Babar Azam.
Pakistan had just Level their home series with New Zealand by 2-2 as First match got abandoned due to the rain interruption.
Pakistan’s 18 men’s squad for 2 T20Is was announced through the press conference by Pakistan’s Men’s National Selection Committee in Lahore which included Hasan Ali in the 18-men squad.
Hasan Ali had brilliant stats in the Pakistan Super League as he crossed the milestone to reach the 100 wickets in the PSL history, He is the second bowler to reach the milestone after Wahab Riaz. He currently have 108 wickets in 81 innings and in race to become the highest wicket taker. Shaheen Afridi is behind Hasan Ali with 103 wickets in 71 innings.
The inclusion of Hasan Ali in the Squad left Pakistan’s fans and worldwide with mixed reactions as he is also considered for the T20 World Cup too according to Wahab Riaz.
Selector of Pakistan Wahab Riaz also clarified the selection of Hasan Ali he mentioned “Hasan was already in our plans for T20I World Cup 2024. He was playing county cricket as he was under contract,”
Riaz further showed trust in Hasan Ali and marked him as the backup of Haris Rauf in the upcoming games and fixtures.
The faith Pakistan Cricket Board is showing in Hasan Ali in the limited-over format look like he will also make it into the 15 men’s Squad for the T20 World Cup in West Indies and the USA more proabably as the backup for the Haris Rauf.
Hasan Ali’s Last T20 Match
The 29-year-old Hasan Ali played his last T20I match on September 09 2022 against Srilanka in Dubai at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the Asia Cup.
Hasan Ali had bowled 3 overs and conceded 25 runs at an economy rate of 8.33 in his last T290I match where Pakistan lost to Sri Lanka by 5 wickets. Pakistan was bundled up to 121 runs which was chased by Sri Lanka in the 17th over. (according to cricinfo)

Hasan Ali had last played ODI game for Pakistan on ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 against New zealand where he bagged 1 wicket conceding 82 runs with an economy of 8.20.
Hasan had his last apperance in the test match for Pakistan in Australia vs Pakistan test series in early January 2024.
Mohammed Rizwan, Azam Khan, and Irfan Khan are also back in the squad as they were earlier ruled out in the New Zealand series.
The Babar Azam-led side will fly to Dublin Ireland on May 7 for the first 3 T20I matches.
Pakistan Cricket Board is yet to announce their World Cup squad and they have confirmed the 15 men’s Squad for T20 World Cup 2024 will be announced after the first T20i match against England which is on May 22 and before the Marked deadline of ICC (May 24).

Pakistan will be lead by their Ex but new skipper Babar Azam in the series and the T20 World Cup as he was appointed Skipper after Shaheen Afridi was sacked by the Pakistan cricket Board.
