Aaron Jones Inning led the USA to their First win of the Tournament

USA and Canada locked horns in the inaugural match of the tournament where Canada posted the mammoth target of 194 runs to the boards which was chased by the USA in just 17.4 overs with 14 balls remaining. USA won the match by 7 wickets.

The partnership between Aaron Jones and Andries Gous single-handedly pulled the game from the jaws of defeat from the Canadian side.

Aaron Jones’s impressive knock of 94 runs in just 40 deliveries with a strike rate of 235 including 4 boundaries and 10 maximum. ‘

Jones entered the crease at No. 4 for the USA after the departure of Skipper Monank Patel in the seventh over. 

The USA was struggling in the first eight overs of the innings as they were just 48/2 at the end of 8 overs playing with a run rate of just 6.00 while the required run rate was 12.25. 

The equation was very simple for the USA side they needed 147 runs in 72 deliveries for the qualification to the Super-eight as one loss completely changed the scenario. 

Aaron Jones’s arrival completely transformed the game of the USA side as Aaron Jones and Andries Gous changed the gears to the top-notch.  

Aaron Jones was assisted by Andries Gous in the run chase that led USA to a successful run chase within just 17.4 overs with 14 balls remaining.

Andries Gous scored 65 runs in 46 deliveries with 7 boundaries and 3 maximum at a strike rate of 141.30.
