PCB had recently Reappointed Babar Azam as the White ball captain for Men’s Cricket Team. Babar was sacked by then PCB when Zaka Ashraf was the PCB’s Chairperson. After Babar, T20 duties were submitted to Shaheen Afridi. Shaheen lead Pakistan in T20I series in New Zealand tour but Visitor got defeated badly in the series with 4–1.
Shaheen Afridi also had worst time in PSL season 9. Beside being favorite and 2-times champion Lahore Qalandars ended up at the bottom of the table winning just one match in the 10 games while 1 ended as No result.
PCB had announced the Reappointment throuh their X handle under the chairmanship of Mohsin Naqvi. Pakistan Former Cricketer had came up with the tweet showing disappointment in selection of White ball captain as Babar Azam. Shahid Afridi believes Rizwan was the best Choice rather than Babar Azam. He slammed to experienced Cricketer selection commitee for this decision. Shahid Afridi said” I am surprised by the decision by very experienced cricketers in the selection committee. I still believe that if change was necessary than Rizwan was the best choice! But since now the decision has been made I offer my full support and best wishes to team Pakistan and Babar Azam”
Mohammad Rizwan is Captain of Multan Sultans in PSL. He had led Multan Sultans in 3 consecutuve Finals of PSL in last 3 year but Unfortunately lost all of them.
