Royal Challenger had shown a miracle performance in the last few matches of IPL 2024. RCB had won 5 out of the last 5 matches after losing their 7 games in the first 8 games. it is the question of all the fans that How RCB can qualify for the Playoff? lets find out.
Yes RCB can still qalify for the playoffs as they defeated the Delhi Capitals with a huge margin of 47 runs, and Royal Challenger Bengaluru are still in the race to qualify for the playoffs.
The 47-run win against Delhi Capitals helped RCB to maintain their Net Run Rate and now they are in only a difference of 0.141 net run rate with Chennai Super Kings.
RCB is currently at No 5 with 12 points and a 0.387 Net Run Rate while CSK is at No 3 with 14 points in 13 games and a net run rate of 0.528.
There’s still a chance for RCB to qualify for the Playoff but for that miracle to happen RCB still needs to depend on other team’s performance.
The top 3 spots need to be secured by the KKR, RR, and SRH. If SRH wins one of their remaining 2 matches it will be in the Top 3. Only the race for 4th place will be open.
The teams competing for the 4th place will be CSK, LSG and RCB. Delhi Capitals can still make 14 points but their negative run rate gives them a poor chance to be part of the qualification scenario.
Lucknow Super Giants need to lose one of their match against Mumbai Indians or Delhi Capitals it will restrict them to 14 points with a very poor run rate that will get them out of the race for Playoffs.
Everything will now come over RCB vs CSK game which will be the decider for the 4th spot in the playoffs.
If CSK wins the game they will qualify for the playoffs independently but if they lose the game against RCB, RCB will also hold 14 points and everything depends on net run rate.
The difference in Net Run Rate between the teams is just 0.141. RCB needs to get past the run rate if they need to qualify for the Playoffs.

How Net Run Rate is Calculated?
Net Run Rate calculation has a very simple equation.
The total runs scored by a team is divided by the Total overs played by the team.
The total runs conceded by the team is divided by the total overs bowled by the teams.
The Net run rate (Total runs conceded/ Total overs bowled) is subtracted from the Net run rate (Total run scored/ total overs played).
