GT vs Mi Match Preview: Predicted Playing 11

Gujarat Titans and five-time Champion Mumbai Indians will be clashing in the 5th match of the 2024 IPL at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Debutant Captain Shubhman Gill in the Gujarat side will be seen in action against Ex-Captain Hardik Pandya who will be captaining Mumbai Indian.

Hardik Pandya was appointed as Captain for Mumbai Indians after management sacked Rohit Sharma after the end of the trade window of 2024. Hardik had led his Ex-team Gujarat to 2 finals in the last two seasons they played. Gujarat Titans had won their maiden IPL trophy in their debut Season. Hardik had been part of Mumbai Indian for so long before he joined GT in 2022 and played under Rohit Sharma.

It will be challenging ahead for Young captain Shubhman Gill to maintain the legacy of Hardik in Gujarat and lead GT for 3rd consecutive finals in 2024. It will be more challenging for Hardik Pandya to fit in Rohit’s shoes and maintain the title-winning legacy of Mumbai Indians.

Both Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans qualified for playoffs in 2023 and clashed in Qualifier 2 where MI suffered a devastating loss with 62 runs while chasing the mammoth total of 233 runs.
