Unreal Hitting by Phil Salt against Romario Shepherd: Eng vs WI

Romario Shepherd got smashed for 30 runs in the 17th over by Phil Salt in the Eng vs WI game.

England won the toss and elected to bowl first at Beausejour Stadium. The combined performance of top-order and middle-order batters led West Indies to post 180 runs to the scoreboards.

England needed 181 runs in the second inning to win the match and the domination from the England batters. 

England opened the inning with Phil Salt and Jos Buttler. West Indies suffered unreal hitting from the England batters. 

Romario Shepherd who had conceded just 11 runs off his first over came to bowl the 16th. 

Romario Shepherd got smashed for a boundary over the cover in the first ball and completed his fifty in just 38 balls. 

Salt didn’t just stop there he approached aggressively to bowling of Romario Shepherd and smashed the second ball over the bowler’s head for a maximum.

England was in a comfortable position in the chase but still Salt didn’t back off he smashed 3rd ball off the over for another boundary over the slip. 

Rmario Shepherd got Smashed for another six in the 4th ball and conceded a back-to-back six with another six on the fifth and a boundary on the last ball of the over contributing to a big 30 runs over that spilled water on the hope of West Indies to defend the total.

Phil Salt was at 49 runs in 37 deliveries and at the end of the over he was at 79 runs in just 43 deliveries after Romario Shepard suffered a brutal hitting. 

Phil Salt remains unbeaten at 87 runs in 47 deliveries along with Jonny Bairstow at 48 runs in 26 deliveries. 

The defending champion won the match by 8 wickets with 15 balls remaining. Phil Salt became Player of the Match.

England will play their next match against South Africa on 21 June at Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia. and USA on 23rd June at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados. 

West Indies will face the USA on 22 June at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados, and South Africa on 24 June at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua.

On the other side, South Africa defeated the USA by 18 runs and registered 5th win of the tournament.
