The BCCI announced the 16 men’s squad for the upcoming Bangladesh tour of India for the first test match against Bangladesh as Bangladesh will tour to India for 2 Test matches and 3 T20I matches.
The first test match for Gautam Gambhir and the coaching staff as they had a disappointing series loss in the ODI against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka.
India is at No. 1 in the points table of the WTC 2023-2025 cycle with 6 wins in 9 matches including 2 draws and 1 loss. India holds 74 points in 9 matches and India still has 10 more matches to play in this test cycle.
The team is announced under the leadership of recent T20 World Cup-winning captain Rohit Sharma and will feature many experienced faces of Indian Test Cricket for the first test match against Bangladesh.

Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja are back in the squad and will be in action in the first test and most probably for the second test too.
Hardik Pandya is ignored as Axar Patel was given priority edge over Pandya in the first test match. Hopeful Sanju Samson again got slammed by BCCI as Dhruv Jurel is included as the Wicket Keeper Batter alongside Rishabh Pant in the squad.
Sarfaraz Khan is given priority over Shreyas iyer in the 16 men squad. Shreyas was recently included in the ODI squad for the Sri Lanka .
Mohammed Shami was expected to make a comeback in the Bangladesh test match however concern ove r his fitness led him stay out of team for the first test match agaisnt the Bangladesh and is expected to join India for the second test match.
Fast Bowler Yash Dayal and young Sarfaraz Kahan also got a chance in the 16 men’s squad of India for the first test match against Bangladesh.
