Nepal vs Ireland A Match Summary: Nepal Won by 71 Runs

Ireland Wolves won the toss and opted to bat first at TU stadium in Kirtipur in the first T20 match against Nepal.

Ross Adair and Stephen Doheny entered to open for Ireland Wolves. Karan KC opened a bowling attack for Nepal and gave an early breakthrough for Nepal as he dismissed Ross Adair in his 3rd delivery. 

Nepal looks strong in the powerplay overs as they picked up 2 wickets with Lalit Rajbanshi bowled Cade Carmichael for just 8 runs in the powerplay. Gulshan Jha dismissed Morgan Topping in the 7th over for a duck and Neil Rock got caught by Kushal Malla in the Nineth over by Gulshan Jha and Ireland Wolves were reduced to 51/4 at 8.1 over.

Kushal Malla was introduced into the attack by Skipper Poudel in the eleventh over of the game and Gareth Delany got caught by Airee in Malla’s over.

Airee takes 2 another catch of Well-set man Stephen Doheny in the 14th over and Fionn Hand in the 16th over of Kushal Bhurtel for just 11 runs and Ireland was 7/84 in 15.1 over.

 None of the other batters looks in good form other than Stephen Doheny, Thomas Mayes, and Liam McCarthy as they scored 46, 16, and 16 runs respectively for Ireland Wolves. Stephen Doheny becomes the top scorer for Ireland Wolves playing till the end scoring 46 runs in 39 deliveries including 4 fours and 2 sixes.

Nepal completely dominated the 1st inning to strict Ireland Wolves for just 121 runs in TU ground. A total of 8 bowlers tried their spell for Nepal. Kushal Bhurtel, Lalit Rajbanshi, and Gulshan Jha picked 2 wickets each for Nepal. Pace Bowler Karan KC and Kushal Malla settled for 1 wicket each in their name. 

The Runchase 

Destructive openers Batsmen Kushal Bhurtel and Aasif Sheikh came out to open for Nepal. Nepal openers looked good initially but Gareth Delay picked 2 wickets of Aasif Sheikh and Rohit Paudel in his first over (4th over of the inning )giving away just 5 runs. 

Gulshan Jha came out to stabilize the inning with Bhurtel but couldn’t add much to the scoreboards and departed early scoring just 4 runs. Sundeep Jora came at No 5 to play a constructive role in the inning with Kushal Bhurtel. Kushal was looking strong despite wickets falling at regular intervals from the other end. Nepal were 38/3 at the end of 6 over.

Sundeep Jora and Kushal Bhurtel played well in the middle over and boosted Nepal’s score. Jora got out on 36(35) including 3 fours and 2 sixes. Dipendra Singh Airee and Kushal Bhurtel played till the end for Nepal and completed the run chase in just 16.1 overs losing just 4 wickets. 

Kushal Bhurtel scored 37 not out in 32 balls and Dipendra Singh Airee played a fiery knock of 20 runs in 12 balls at the end and Nepal won the match by 6 wickets.
